Dear Millburn Community,
We are aware of the threats to schools being shared on social media, and reported on national news. I have been in contact with Chief Gilfedder of the Millburn Police Department and the State Police, who confirm that there are no specific, credible threats relating to New Jersey schools.
The school district Security Department and law enforcement personnel will be monitoring chatter on social media. We ask that staff, students, and parents also monitor these channels, and please alert the school district of any concerning posts. If there is an immediate threat please contact the Millburn Police Department at 973-564-7001. We would like to remind students not to share such messages, and to report any potential threats that may come to their attention.
As always, the safety of our staff and students is our top priority. Please know that we are taking this seriously and addressing additional safety measures at all of our schools.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
Christine Burton
Superintendent of Schools
